Artists are invited to perform in one of Hamburg’s legendary Clouds Hill studios, in front of a select audience, with everything recorded directly to tape under pristine conditions. Pressed on vinyl, each performance becomes a living document – part of a renowned catalog that already includes releases by Faust, Omar Rodríguez-López, Le Butcherettes, Bela B., Deantoni Parks and many more. Every album in the series preserves the intimacy, fragility, and brilliance of a singular musical moment.

Now, Odd Couple joins the series.

Born out of the quiet vastness of East Frisia, Odd Couple are masters of self-reliance. When nothing happens around you, you make it happen yourself. The Berlin-based duo of Jascha Kreft and Tammo Dehn embody a number of distinctly Northern German traits: a calm disregard for outside expectations, an unwavering trust in their own pace, and a rock-solid live performance. Above all, they possess a healthy skepticism toward unnecessary chatter — and the rare ability not to take themselves too seriously. Odd Couple have released five albums to date (“It’s a Pressure to Meet You,” “Flügge,” “Yada Yada,” “Universum Duo,” and “Rush-Hour des Lebens”), and have played countless shows and festivals across Germany and beyond. Their sound blends kraut with dada, powerful walls of sound with glittering glam, and sprawling guitar explosions with sharp, ironic lyrics. And now, album number six is on the way.

Their Live at Clouds Hill session captures this unique energy in its purest form — including fan favorites like “Dübelmann” and “Haste Storm, haste Licht”, as well as brand-new tracks from their recently released album “Rush-Hour des Lebens.” A raw, witty, and powerful snapshot of two artists completely in their element.
